The suede bag has cleaned up this spring, with tantalising versions from labels such as The Row, but also high street brands like COS, whose bowling style has been spotted all over Instagram. And it's not over yet. Because Valentino Garavani has just entered the chat with its own suede bag that's so superlative it's already been seen on Alexa Chung, not one, not twice but three times.

Out and about over the weekend in New York, Chung styled her delectable suede tote bag with the simple yet effective outfit combination of a blue shirt, brown leather jacket, straight-leg jeans and slingback pumps (also Valentino Garavani).

Not exactly the same as Alexa's, but, nonetheless, Reiss's suede jacket will be a staple in your spring wardrobe.

Alexa's shirt is slightly roomy so go a size up if you want to achieve the same look.

For straight-leg jeans, you can't go wrong with Levi's.

The ultimate suede bag for SS25 (and beyond).

Thought you couldn't match your shoes to your bag! Alexa's choice of these slingback pumps would suggest otherwise.

It's the bag, however, that is the lynchpin. The Nellcôte Embellished Suede Tote, available in either camel or dark brown and decorated with studs and eyelets, is trending on Net-a-Porter - and it's not hard to see why. It's one of the brand's first bags under Alessandro Michele, who took over as creative director in 2024, and whose reputation for hit bags preceded him after his knack for minting cult accessories at his last post, Gucci.

He's doing what he does best with this suede tote, marrying practicality (its size) with playfulness (those studs) to create a bag that's the best of both worlds.

Bella Hadid, who's also a fan, styled hers with the lo-fi combination of a white knit, boot-leg jeans and cowboy boots in New York, while Prior to crossing the pond, Alexa Chung took a mirror selfie with hers alongside an olive green trench coat and classic black shades.
