If, like me (I’m not ashamed to say), you’re anxiously awaiting the return of And Just Like That- despite the haunting memory ofMiranda’s sexual awakening- today brings good news indeed. Sarah Jessica Parker has sprinkled her sartorial magic over a new collaboration with Strathberry, the accessory label as renowned for its famous fans (the Princess of Wales, Meghan Markle) as for its high-quality craftsmanship.

This partnership, with SJP’s eponymous footwear brand, celebrates one of Strathberry’s most popular bags- the Lana Osette- and gives it that inimitable flourish for which SJP has become so known.

The City Osette is equal parts practical and stylish, with the choice between a top handle and a longer strap, as well as a drawstring detail to make it more compact. The colours, very much borrowed from SJP’s own collections, include classic black, chic grey, vibrant red and ‘lollipop’ pink. It’s exactly the kind of bag you’d imagine swinging from the arm of Carrie Bradshaw in any episode of Sex and the City (or, indeed, And Just Like That).

Naturally, one of the major inspirations behind this capsule is New York City, SJP’s (and Carrie’s) beloved hometown. It also features in the accompanying campaign, which sees SJP giving great street style as she carries her bag in- where else? - the city.

Starting at £215, these bags are most certainly an investment. But if you’re on the hunt for a new forever handbag, I can attest to the fact that Strathberry’s quality means its pieces really do last.
