As soon as my nose begins to tingle, my eyes start to run and the dreaded realisation that hayfever season is starting, I know it's time to think about footwear. Not necessarily the most logical thought process, I admit. But, according to my fashion almanack, whenever my allergies restart, it's time to give serious consideration to what I want to wear when winter is over. Starting with the feet.
Shopping for accessories is far easier than making a decision about a statement dress, which is why I begin at the bottom. Reading between the lines of the SS19 catwalks and recent street style shots, it's readily apparent that seven trends are striding ahead in the trend race. For daytime, I'm coverting animal print ankle boots and Frankenstein loafers, both of which will elevate denimand ground midaxi (that's mid-to-maxi) dresses. As I move into the twilight hours, I'd like a pair of sculptural heels or refashioned Mary-Janes to off-set going out-out tops. For the citybreaks (that are currently more Pinterest dreams than booking confirmations), I'd like to pack flossy sandals and lux hiking sandals.
Here are all the shapes I'm adding to basket:
