It's officially time to prioritise warmth over everything else in our wardrobes, so we need our knitwear at the ready. Yet while there are plenty of styles to choose from – I'm looking at you, Fair Isle knits, cashmere jumpers and even the kitsch Christmas options – one style stands out above the rest around this time of year, and there's no short supply of options.

I'm talking about ski-inspired knits. Although this term can span quite a large number of options, the styles dominating at the moment are knits with the literal word 'ski', 'snow' or any other variation emblazoned on the front; knits with a classic Nordic pattern (Fair Isle can also come in here), and knits with a typical snow-scape woven in. So, as you see, there's plenty to choose from. Finding one that isn't sold out, however, is the hard part.

Anthropologie has seen huge success with its ski-inspired knits this season, with the Maeve Graphic Crew-Neck Jumper and The Upside Keystone Blanche Half-Zip Jumper selling out in most sizes rather rapidly. MC2 Saint Barth has created a very popular postcard collection depicting key ski resort-inspired prints, plenty of which are available on Farfetch, and skiwear label Perfect Moment has become somewhat famous for its ski slogan emblazoned styles.

So, if you're looking to add a pop of personality into your winter wardrobe, investing in a ski-inspired knit could be the solution. Now, to find the perfect one.
