It's official: the weather is confusing. I know, we're wont to say this every other week. But this time, it's really true. After battling through a frankly weird August, full of rainy showers, intermittent sunshine and a few gales, we're edging into September in a heatwave of sorts. This means that it's more difficult than usual to get excited about new knitwear and ankle boots when blazing sunshine and rosé are still the order of the day. Still, Sézane's new collection is certainly helping, and may even be convincing me that falling leaves and crisp temperatures are preferable to all the frozen margaritas you can throw at me.
The first thing that piqued my interest is that the jumpers have just the right amount of fluff. From roll necks and cardigans that are anything but boring to check print crew necks, the knitwear is truly excellent. The sorts of pieces you can throw on with jeans and flats and still look like you've really tried.
Then, there's the button-front jumpsuits, the leather mini skirts and the sorts of well-cut blazers I always imagined I should own. And the accessories– buttery soft leather bags, smart cross-bodies and chic lace-up boots. Honestly, it's enough to make you look forward to shorter nights and cold days. And I don't say that lightly.
