Serena Williams Can Now Add Luggage Designer To Her Already Impressive CV

Serena Williams is many things: tennis champion, entrepreneur, mother, multi-tasker and wearer of excellent clothes, to name a few. She now also holds the (admittedly very niche) title of luggage designer, thanks to a brand new collection with Away.

The collection itself includes new versions of Away's signature Polycarbonate suitcases, which come with handy extras like a phone charger and built-in wash bag. There is also a series of soft side cases, part of the brand's Expandable line, all in a bold shade of red with multi-coloured camo prints inside.

On Instagram, Williams said: 'If there's one thing I've learned after years of travelling (as an athlete, friend, and mother), it's important to have quality luggage. As we embark on a new decade of exploration and discovery, I am super excited to share my new luggage collaboration with @away. No matter where your travels may take you, pack your favorite pieces and do it in style.'

Perhaps the highlight of the collection is the ingenious Shoe Cubes, designed by Williams to help organise and separate your shoes from the rest of your luggage. Pretty clever, when you think about it. So clever, in fact, that they've already sold out, despite only being on sale for a few hours. Don't worry, though – there will be more stock soon.

Given Williams' global influence (she currently has 12.1 million followers on Instagram) and the appeal of Away, it's no surprise that pieces have already flown off the (virtual) shelves. Whether you're in the market for packing cubes (another brilliant invention) or new hand luggage, it's worth considering this new collaboration.
