We're currently in the depths of summer, and while it hasn't been a particularly balmy one (with the exception of a few scorchers like this week) I often find myself wondering - which sunglasses are in right now? Big sunnies had their moment back in the 00's, tiny sunglasses (along with tiny handbags) have reigned supreme for the last few years, and now, there's a new type of spectacle in town - and it's already received the celeb seal of approval.

The futuristic sunglass trend, as I like to call it, feels like it belongs to an entirely new era of fashion; Loewe's inflated sunglasses, characterised by bold, oversized frames singlehandedly broke the internet, and was one of our first demonstrations of the incredibly photogenic weird and wonderful trend, co-signed by Kylie Jenner and Julia Fox (of course). Now, one brand is taking the bold sunglass trend to a whole new level.

When I first laid my eyes on Paloceras' latest collection, Pebble, my first reaction was - can I pull this off? The brand blends cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship to create sunglasses that can only be described as a piece of (wearable) art. Each pair feels retro and futuristic at the same time, with bold frames and colours, which for someone who has exclusively worn black sunglasses their entire life, can feel slightly intimidating.

After much deliberation, I decided to retire the sunglasses I've worn for more years than I'd like to admit and chose a pair of Paloceras sunglasses for my upcoming holiday. While I don't usually opt for colour, I decided to embrace summer and chose the vibrant Milky Blue sunglasses from the Pebble collection. As soon as they arrived, I knew I'd made the right choice. Every outfit was instantly elevated thanks to the bold design - even the simplest outfit was suddenly a look - and I had at least five people ask me where they were from before proceeding to try them on and take the obligatory selfie (did we mention they're incredibly Instagram-worthy?). Despite the chunky frame, the sunglasses never felt heavy on my face, and the lenses were without a doubt the clearest lenses I've ever experienced.

Some of the styles are already selling out, so shop the Pebble collection while you still can.

The perfect shade of baby blue, these sunglasses are the ultimate summer accessory.

If you're after something slightly more low-key, opt for the cool black colourway.

The tortoiseshell square glasses are some of our favourites from the collection. They're limited edition - so be quick.

If you're still not over Barbie-core, or just fancy a pop of colour, opt for bubblegum pink.
