The difference that hair can make in terms of confidence is nothing short of groundbreaking. When my hair is in good condition, I even consider going make-up-free because my hair does all the work for me. Who needs a full face when your hair looks that good? However, as I get my hair coloured every few months, the reality is that my locks are often dry, dehydrated and damaged.

For the new year, I vowed to make some positive changes in my haircare routine: silk pillowcases, heat protectants and hair treatments. This month, it just so happened that British haircare brand, Noughty's Let's Bond range - a trio of shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment - landed on my desk. The products, all of which contain a unique bond-repairing technology, are believed to reverse damage after just one use. That's one way to start my January off right.

Why I started using it

I'd heard a lot about the brand's scientifically proven formula that is said to return the hair to its healthy, pre-damaged glory after just one use. I was curious to put the range through its paces, eager to see whether Let's Bond would give my dehydrated strands a new lease of life.

As someone with naturally wavy hair who also has it colour-treated in a salon every few months, my hair requires regular maintenance to keep it in tip-top condition. When I heard that the Let's Bond range was ideal for anyone with chemically treated hair, optimal for regular heat tool users and suitable for all hair types, I knew it was a match made in hair heaven.

The Let's Bond Leave-In Treatment also contains built-in heat protectant, something that aligns with my New Year haircare goals, and, is free from silicones, sulphates, and parabens - something I've been trying to avoid where possible. It certainly doesn't hurt that the range is offered at an affordable and accessible price point, either, adding to the appeal. But, is it too good to be true?

How I tested it

To begin with, I wash my hair with the Noughty Let's Bond Shampoo and then follow up with the Noughty Let's Bond Conditioner. The shampoo creates a good amount of lather and I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it made my hair feel without drying it out. The conditioner feels nourishing, coating the strands without weighing them down. Something that reassured me was that both products also prevent hair colour from fading, a major plus when it comes to hair products for me.

After showering, I pat my hair with a microfibre towel and then comb the Noughty Let's Bond Leave-In Treatment with my fingers through damp hair from root to tip. No rinse required. I notice that all products in the range smell fresh, clean and faintly tropical, a scent that I later learn is whipped vanilla, cacao, florals, green fig, fresh orange and mandarin.

To finish my routine, I simply use a hot air brush while drying to create shape throughout my layers. And, I don't even have to worry about doubling up with a heat protectant, either.

The results

During the styling process, I found that my hair was much more manageable to tame with a visibly reduced amount of frizziness. Somehow, I simultaneously noticed more volume, despite the products smoothing out my locks with added shine and softness. After just one use, I already noticed the difference in terms of the texture of my hair. Not only did my hair look thick, strong, healthy and nourished - but it felt it, too.

The hot brush had no problem holding the shape, creating plenty of bounce, volume and drama. Without a doubt, I immediately noticed the difference after using Let's Bond when it came to styling, and was able to create a 90s-inspired blowout with ease.

Even the day after, I was impressed at my hair's ability to retain its smoothness and shape, as well as the fact my hair felt adequately clean without any build-up, something I struggle to find at times with shampoo and conditioner from more affordable ranges. Kudos, Noughty.

What's inside?

Composed of a unique combination of 11 biometric amino acids and an innovative patented bond-repairing molecular compound, Noughty's Molecular Repair Amino Complex is free from nasties, uses the principles of green chemistry and is kind to your hair. Years in the making, Noughty has invested in cutting-edge ingredients for the range and conducted six studies to ensure that the Let’s Bond range delivers actual, real tangible results.

How does it work?

According to Noughty, over time, chemical treatments, colouring and heat styling can damage the lipid barrier, cuticle and hydrogen bonds within the cortex of the hair. Noughty's dual action formula works inside out, penetrating the cortex, repairing the bonds and rebuilding the barrier for serious strength and shine.

The verdict

The Let's Bond range from Noughty definitely has left me impressed. This affordable haircare range delivers salon-worthy results and could become a serious contender for higher-end products on the market. All products are ones that I'd reach for again, but it's worth mentioning that they're more effective when all used together. The results really were instant, and the texture of my hair visibly improved after just one use, leaving it noticeably glossier and more manageable for styling.

Other reviewers agree, commenting that they 'fell in love with this treatment' and that it 'leaves the hair smelling beautiful with great bounce and shine.' The overwhelming majority loved the value, scent, ingredients and effect that the Let's Bond range had on their hair.
