I Have Expensive Taste, But This High Street Outfit Is All I’m Wearing This Spring

The high street rarely does linen this well - but Nobody's Child is the exception.

If you find yourself dreading the thought of being back in linen season and the heaps of ironing it inevitably brings, I've got some bad news for you: it's not just linen trousers that are trending this year, it's the entire linen look. I know what you're thinking - nine times out of ten, a pair of white linen trousers that promises to not be see-through is, in fact, very much see-through. However, I've found a linen co-ord that's so good, it'll be worth unfolding the ironing board - enter, Nobody's Child Linen-blend Tie Front Shirt and matching Shona Trousers.

The top half of the co-ord is an elevated take on the classic linen shirt, finished with detailing like a short collar and tie-front that almost gives it a Ganni-esque edge, perhaps inspired by the success of the brand's Cotton Peplum Tie Blouse that retails for over double the price of the Nobody's Child style. The bottom half of the duo is equally as chic, cut in a wide-leg fit with a drawstring waist, and made from a linen-blend material that offers the best of both worlds: breathability and drape that resists the usual creases (and extra ironing) that comes with 100% linen.

Nobody's Child has designed a linen shirt that stands out from the classic long sleeve collared iteration, thanks to its tie-front that's perfect for layering over mini dresses or pairing with jeans.

To go with the shirt, Nobody's Child have also designed a matching pair of linen trousers. With an elasticated waist and a drawstring tie, the trousers are super comfortable, whether you're wearing them on the beach or to brunch. Plus, they also come in a petite length for those under 5'4".

Styling linen trousers is notoriously simple, but what about an entire linen set? Worn together, accessorise with ballet flats and oversized sunglasses - even throw on a headscarf too. If you prefer to dopamine dress in the spring/summer, add colour to the monochromatic look with a pair of bright sandals and raffia tote. When worn as two separate pieces, throw the shirt on over high-waisted denim or a slip dress, and partner the trousers with a striped tee, bikini top or even a boxy blazer - it's rare that a co-ord feels equally as great styled solo as it does together.

If you're looking to inject linen into your spring/summer wardrobe, the Nobody's Child linen co-ord is the perfect starting point. The kind of outfit that makes getting dressed in the morning effortless, whether you're getting ready for a day in the office or around the pool, the linen pieces look great together but also hold their own as separates so you can get even more wear out of it. You can also shop the alternative crimson colour below.

The Tie Front Shirt is also available in a brighter, tomato-red shade that's perfect for a head-to-toe pop of colour. Don't be afraid to accessorise the red with other lighter shades or whites.

The red linen top has a matching pair of trousers that also have an elasticated drawstring waist and breezy fit. With two handy side pockets and a wide-leg fit that skims the body, style on its own with a tank top, or with the matching linen shirt.
