We've entered that strange time of year when a desire to ditch your winter coat becomes so overwhelming that you start leaving the house in just a jumper only to freeze halfway to work. There is another option (and it doesn't involve bundling back into your puffer). It's a trending spring jacket that's been making the rounds on Instagram; a tweed cardi-jacket in the perfect shade of butter yellow from Monsoon(!).

With its round neckline, fitted silhouette and pastel shade, it's distinctly Chanel-esque; a cover-up that can be smartened up with tailored slacks or worn more casually with tracksuit bottoms (we love a multitasker). Juna Banda styled the jacket, which costs a pleasing £99, with a pair of wide-leg jeans and squared-toed ballet flats. Anna Kurtoglyan, meanwhile, contrasted the ladylike sensibility of its tweed fabric with trainers and jorts.

Until the weather's playing ball, you might want to layer up as much as possible underneath, slipping a cashmere sweater over a thermal body and winding a blanket scarf around your neck. Overkill? Hardly. As soon as it's warm enough for bare legs, however, you can immediately revert to a fitted white tee, lightweight pyjama trousers and flip-flops (imagine!).
