The trailer for Greta Gerwig's Barbie is finally here, and it's a hyperreal rose-tinted dream. With a cast that features everyone from Will Ferrell to Michael Cera, half the cast of Netflix's Sex Education and even a surprise appearance from Dua Lipa - it's no wonder the world is already utterly obsessed.

Whilst the internet scrambles to get in on the Barbie poster meme action, we've been marvelling at the marabou feathers, neon roller blades and hot-pink outfits that crop up throughout the trailer. Including, a rather iconic pair of fluffy Barbie mules that appear almost cartoonish on Robbie's feet, a style that was the height of sophistication pre 2000s when feathery pink slippers a must have for leisurewear. Those of you who were lucky enough to have had a Barbie the first time around will know the satisfaction of popping her in a pair of these babies (that's if you haven't lost one already).

But it appears Robbie's IRL style may have been influenced by the Barbie-world all along. A look back at past outfits and you'll see the iconic Barbie mules cropping up plenty of times, there's even a fluffy pink version - proof she was destined to play this role all along.

From the film that's already brought us a neon-lycra clad Ryan Gosling - we can't wait to see what's next in store.
