I'm calling it the 'everything' jacket.

If you've ever been personally victimised by someone uttering the words 'It's too hot for a jacket,' gather 'round. As someone who is perpetually cold (I’m currently being embraced by a hot water bottle), the very notion that there could ever be a time when a jacket is unnecessary is absurd. No, it doesn't matter if it’s July and a sweltering 30 degrees when you leave the house - because as soon as that blazing sun inevitably dips behind a cloud, my body starts to shiver, and I find myself fantasising about that jacket you convinced me to leave behind (while quietly harboring a little resentment toward you). So, every year, the hunt begins for the perfect 'summer jacket' - as oxymoronic as that might sound - and this season, it's Mango's contrast collar jacket.

Every time I walk into Mango, I have to do a double take. The cut and quality of certain pieces are so well thought out, they often rival my favourite premium brands (particularly Mango dresses). Mango’s collections are also more curated than most high street stores, meaning you’re not wading through racks of filler pieces before stumbling on a gem. Which brings me to the jacket.

The summer-ready take on the calssic barn jacket, Mango's contrast collar jacket is the ultimate light layer to top off every spring/summer outfit you'll be wearing for the forseeable. It's also a slightly grown-up version of a basic denim jacket, with an added touch of elegance thanks to its unique leather collar. So far, I've worn it to work, dinner, drinks, a picnic, and to brunch - yes, it really is the 'everything' jacket. It’s not just personal bias fueling the buzz around this jacket. Influencers have taken to Instagram in droves, styling the jacket in a multitude of ways - most notably paired with classic jeans and a tank. The result? A swift sell-out at Mango. Fortunately, the sought-after piece is still available on ASOS - for now. Consider this your cue to act fast.
