I have discovered the hard way that, when shopping for any kind of workout clothes, it's better to invest in pieces that will last, rather than buying something cheaply which will fall apart at a moment's notice. How do I know this? Well, when the best leggings I had ever worn developed a hole in them (after five happy years, I might add), I bought cheap replacements and, in short, it was a huge mistake. The thing is, though, when the best leggings you've ever worn are from Lululemon, it's not always feasible to part with the best part of £100. Rejoice, therefore, as the Lululemon Black Friday sale has begun.
The leggings in question are the Align Pants, which are available in a myriad of colours, prints and fits. There are different leg lengths – 25" if you're petite or would like a more cropped style and 28" for longer leggings – and, I have to say, while they're designed for yoga, I actually wear them for everything. For me, everything includes walking, boxing, running, pilates and, well, quite a lot of sitting on the sofa. I've even worn plain black versions to work with an oversized blazer, purely out of laziness, so that I didn't have to get changed for my gym class later in the day. I did, you'll be relieved to hear, remove my blazer.
What makes the Align Pants so good? Well, they're made from super-soft fabric which is incredibly lightweight, so they feel like a second skin (in a good way, not in a cutting-off-circulation-and-hugely-unflattering way). The waistband is high, and it actually stays there, unlike many leggings I've tried in the past. There's even a hidden pocket in the waistband, so you can stash your credit card or even your keys, which I think is nothing short of genius. Of course, you do pay for such high quality, which is why the leggings are normally around £90. Happily, for Black Friday, they've been reduced to as little as £34, depending on the style you want.
That's not all, either – there are also discounts to be found on Lululemon's joggers, T-shirts, running shoes, bralettes, zip-up tops and – most usefully for winter – the brand's famous puffer jackets. It's possibly not a surprise to you that these items are selling fast, so if you are in the market for some new gym kit, or simply something supremely comfortable to wear at home, on the school run or anywhere else you need to be, I'd act fast. I will fight you for the last pair of Align leggings, however – they really are that good.

Lululemon Black Friday Sale 2024
Does Lululemon give discounts on Black Friday?
Yes, the Black Friday deals are in full swing and there are some big savings across all categories. Align Pants have been reduced to as little as £34, although they're selling fast, while some of the running shoes are more than half price. Puffer coats, too, are in the sale, along with T-shirts, jumpers, sports bras and more.
Why are Lululemon clothes so expensive?
A few factors contribute to the cost of Lululemon items, including the high quality of materials used across the brand's collections. There is also a strong focus on durability and performance, ensuring that each piece works for the wearer in the best way. This is why Lululemon labels many of its products to suggest the best use (i.e some of the leggings are designed for yoga, some for high impact activity). The brand also invests heavily in research and development to produce the best quality products it can.
Is Lululemon cheaper in the UK?
The short answer is no – products tend to be cheaper in the US and Australia than in the UK but the difference is marginal.
Does Lululemon replace damaged items?
Yes – the brand has a Quality Promise, which means it will replace items that don't perform as intended within one year of purchase. There are some conditions attached to this, however, such as you must provide proof of purchase or identification and items damaged by normal wear, accidents, misuse, or personal preference are not eligible for return.
