Hush Kensington Dress

When you've got big boobs, shopping can be something of a nightmare. The options are often looking matronly or spending the entire day pulling at fabric to cover yourself up.

Would you prefer to drown in fabric or have your bra poking out all day? Wear a dress which is too small over your boobs and fits the rest of your body, or one that fits your chest but hides everything else? What a conundrum.

Happily, the nice people at Hush have a solution and it's the Kensington dress. I can attest to the fact that my 34FF boobs fit neatly inside it, and that it shows that I do, in fact, have boobs without making me feel exposed or eliciting stares from passing pedestrians.

To start with, it's got a shirred (elasticated) waist, which means it's fitted but doesn't dig into you and, while this may sound impossible to anyone who is DD+, it's a shirt-style dress which DOES NOT GAPE.

I asked Hush how it's possible for that to happen and they said: 'It has a concealed placket, which gives the front a clean look and we're careful about button placement to reduce gaping.'

Could more shirt dresses please have a concealed placket (fun word) because being able to wear something with buttons without safety pins is genuine game-changer.

The Kensington dress is also pretty ageless - I love it aged 28 (I have it in prints) but I've seen women in their 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's rocking it, too.

This season, the brand has brought out the black and red version which has sleeves, meaning it's a great trans-seasonal piece.

They're also really easy to style differently. I like mine with a pair of trainers and a leather jacket, my sister stole it and made it far cooler by doing the buttons up to the top and pairing it with Doc Martens. Once it's colder, I'm planning to do a polo neck underneath with chunky ankle boots on my feet.

I've only got one complaint about the dress and that's that it's not very size inclusive. Hush goes up to an 18 in some styles but not in everything. I would love to see a wider range of sizes and models, especially as the Kensington dress is so flattering and comfortable on so many different body shapes.
