The Princess of Wales seems to have developed a new outfit formula for 2023. Spotted today at Foxclubs Nursery, she paired a turtleneck sweater dress with a double-breasted coat. Although the pieces were different, it was exactly the same combination as the one she wore last week to visit the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. Clearly, she's settling into her style signature.

Today's coat was a high street hit from Massimo Dutti, one of her favourite brands for smart pieces that always send the right message. She's worn the coat several times - it was last spotted in January 2022 - and tends to pair it with knitwear in a similarly sumptuous neutral.

The Spanish brand, owned by Inditex, has become something of a go-to. A little more expensive than Zara, it’s the pared-back older sister who’s more likely to supply sleek separates, smart outerwear and sensible stealth-wealth shoes instead of flash-in-the-pan trends. Today's coat is no longer available, but it has plenty of camel coats that will tick a similarly classic box like this long wool-blend robe coat.

This belted robe coat, in a luxurious shade of biscuit, will be the gift that keeps on giving this winter.

She's not the only royal to rely on Massimo Dutti. Spain’s Queen Letizia is a huge supporter, and so is Meghan Markle, who owns coats, polo necks and silky skirts from the brands. Quick, have a look before everyone else finds out.
