At Ganni's show, hosted on the first day of Paris Fashion Week, there were two accessory newsflashes. 1) XL bags are back and 2) ballet pumps aren't going anywhere. Ganni's version of the classic '00s shoe isn't your average pair, however. Like its buckled and eyelet-studded flat that scored a spot on every fashion girlie's wish list, its latest viral ballet flat has added bite.

The lace-up ballerina has the shoe's classic shape with a scrunched heel and criss-cross lacing that almost entirely covers the upper, giving the foot an almost corseted look. As well as everyday shades like black and brown that will slot easily into your shoedrobe, it also comes in leopard-printed or crystal-embellished denim and a red patent leather.

On the cobbled streets of Paris, show-goers largely stuck to the black version, pairing it with short black ankle socks or chilli red hosiery, both of which work brilliantly with the lacing detail. (Note: you don't have to criss-cross them closed every time you slip them on!) Use them to soften a pair of tailored slacks or lean into their romantic mood with a puff-sleeved dress as soon as the temperature spikes.
