I'm always on the hunt for a great pair of jeans - and my new favourites come courtesy of Free People. High waisted, loose and slightly cropped at the ankle, this barrel-leg style - otherwise known as the 'horseshoe' for obvious reasons - is flattering, comfortable and looks great whatever you wear them with.

If you're already a fan of Agolde's Luna shape, the horseshoe is for you, giving that voluminous curved silhouette that is bang on trend for 2024. And psst: if you missed out on the Sienna Miller x M&S sell-out barrel jeans (me too) this pair makes the perfect alternative.

Whilst this style is available in a whopping 18 different washes, I opted for the washed black, an easy-to-wear shade that goes with everything in my wardrobe – although I do love the ‘Rambler’ shade and the acid-wash grey, too. The denim is super soft and slouchy meaning not only do they fall beautifully but they're also seriously comfy to wear. Size up if you prefer your jeans to sit on the hip or stick to your usual size for a neat, high-waisted cut.

For casual days, wear with your favourite comfy T-shirt and sandals or for something a little smarter, I’ll be pairing these with Aligne’s neat waistcoat button-down top and kitten heels – the ideal jeans-and-nice-top combo. Or for an office-friendly outfit wear a pair of barrel-leg jeans with a cool-girl ruffle blouse and ballet flats to nail the boho trend.
