The latest evidence that double denim is worth a revisit? Not Juliye - who resurrected the trend at Paris Couture Week - but Michelle Obama, who decided to side-step a power dress for a denim co-ord from Rejina Pyo. A Candian tuxedo, in other words, the likes of which you and I, mere mortals, might feel slightly nervous about attempting IRL (depending on how vividly we can recall that cowboy hat of Justin Timberlake's).
Wearing Pyo was an exceptionally good choice for Obama. (She's a fashion designer from South Korea, whose quiet self-possession helped her to found a thriving business thousands of miles from home in London - and has a devoted following of women (and increasingly men) who are invested in her chic, comfortable and cool clothes.) And the fact that she chose double denim - Pyo's Maeve Jacket, with its elongated collar and cinched waist, and Ellis Trousers - has really got people talking. Obama has form when it comes to serious fashion. She might wear affordable brands like J.Crew, but she'll crack out spangled thigh-high boots from Balenciaga, no problem.

Her Canadian tuxedo is actually a matching set, of course, which makes things easier. But most of us have a pair of jeans and a denim jacket in our wardrobes. You might not have worn them together since the days of NSYNC - i.e. a lifetime ago - but why don't you give them a whirl this weekend?
