I’m A Leggings Snob – This Is The £23 Amazon Pair That Changed My Mind Forever

They're just as good as Lululemon.

Whether I'm at Reformer pilates, returning a parcel or meeting friends for a well-deserved iced vanilla matcha latte, there is a high probability I am wearing a pair of black leggings. The crux of my casual wardrobe, black leggings are the ultimate cheat code for off-duty attire. They're classic, comfortable and effortlessly go with all my cosy neutrals.

A good pair of leggings saves me many sartorial decisions when working from home, but as a self-confessed black leggings snob, most aren't worthy enough to make it into my gym drawer. They need to be stretchy enough to fit my waist, hips and knees without going baggy or falling down (quite the feat when you're 'pear-shaped') and they need to survive ample washing without going bobbly or falling apart. Plus, they need to look chic enough to pair them with an oversized knit and trainers, but also functional enough to withstand long walks and gym classes.

After testing plenty of black leggings in my time, the only two pairs of leggings that ever made the cut are the cult Lululemon Aligns, £88 and the Adanola Ultimate Leggings, £39.99, until I finally caved and took a punt on Amazon's £23 best-selling CRZ leggings. Safe to say, my mind was blown.

They're ultra-high-waisted, have that sought-after 'naked feeling' that made the Aligns so popular and even feature a hidden pocket in the waistband to hold your keys. The luxe finish reminds me of the Adanola leggings whilst the comfort and stretch reminds me of Lululemon Aligns, minus the steep price-tag of both. They also wash amazingly (I bought them over a month ago and still as good as new) and they are handily lint and fluff-resistant.

The leggings are so good, they have racked up thousands of five star reviews.

As the leggings are delightfully stretchy, I recommend sizing down - I am normally a size 10 but went for a size 8 and they fit like a dream. My only criticism is that I wouldn't wear these leggings for intense cardio or running. They are described as 'sweat-wicking' but there are better options on the market for your Sunday 10km run. Like most, I prefer to keep my every day and running leggings separate.

A sweaty F45 class may be out of the question, but the CRZ leggings would definitely suit a strength session at the gym, a long walk or running around the house after kids. Don't just take my word for it, the leggings have received tens of thousands of five-star reviews online with customers hailing them, as 'just as good as higher brands'.

One reviewer commented, 'These leggings have quickly become my favourite for yoga and lounging around. The fabric is incredibly soft and luxurious, making them a pleasure to wear.'
