COS is well-known for being the best at delivering high-end clothes on a high street budget - and now it's official. The Swedish brand - part of the same group as other behemoths such as H&M, Arket and Weekday - has entered the Lyst Index, the global search platform's quarterly list of the hottest brands in the world of fashion.
It might have missed on out on the top 10, coming in at 17 above Ralph Lauren, Chloé and Toteme, but it's still a sign of the retailer's dominance when it comes to viral products (see it's Suede Bowling Bag). Perhaps more importantly, however, is the shop's ability to deliver quality classics like its Chunky Pure Cashmere Crew-Neck Jumper, which just so happens to be number five on the hottest products round-up for Q4, narrowly missing out on a top-three ranking thanks to Coach, UGG and Miu Miu.
As fans will already know, COS is a one-stop-shop for quality basics as well as more directional pieces that look more expensive - much more - than their price tags. Take the brand's Utility Barrel-Leg Cargo Trousers, for example, a tailored spin on the intimidatingly '00s style that will convince any millennial. Its knitwear selection is unparalleled for sleek merino twin-sets and affordable cashmere, while its outerwear is similarly elegant in cut.
My favourite ahead of spring is the minimal Single-Breasted Car Coat, which is perfect if you're taking a smart approach to workwear in 2025, but will also work just as well over a relaxed knit and your favourite jeans at the weekend. What are you waiting for?
