After two seasons of mostly virtual shows, Copenhagen Fashion Week has swung back into business over the last few days - and not just in terms of physical events and actual street style. Of all the trends that have cropped up so far, a return to tailoring seems to be the most dominant, with influencers reaching for their oversized blazers as if to say, 'I'm back!'
And the case they've made is not only compelling but timely, with the rest of us starting to think about returning to the office after so long spent at home. Model Sara Flaaen Licius shrugged her large-lapelled beige blazer over a blue button-down and matching boxer shorts. (Swap the bottom half for some straight-legged leather trousers and you've got a great 'first day back' outfit right there, don't you think?)
Vanessa Hong went the whole hog with a full trouser suit - hers was cream corduroy - which she paired with a barely-there crop top from Birgitte Herskind. Ellie Delphine, meanwhile, styled her roomy black blazer with a tiger-print mesh turtleneck and baggy jeans.
What's clear is that the blazer is a wardrobe cornerstone that makes a great base for any outfit, whether you work in a creative environment or one that's a little more corporate.
For the former, Daily Paper's pistachio-coloured blazer would work a treat, while a palette-cleansing neutral - Arket's taupe leather tailoring, say - is on-point for the former. It's going to be a smart start to September.
