In a normal year, it would be considered a little crackers to have already bought your Christmas tree. In 2020, it's the only thing keeping us going, and also makes total sense because 'stay-at-home' is an official slogan that might as well be joined by 'and-stare-at-your-Christmas-tree'. It's quite clear from Instagram - an excellent barometer for anything interiors-related - that people are getting very excited about decorating - and are very much taking an early doors approach. So there's only question left: what's your Christmas tree decorations tribe?

The Pampus Tree
Perhaps inspired by Jacquemus, his sultry catwalk that wound its way through a wheat field this summer, people are forgoing baubles for pampus grass and dried flowers, all in desert shades of sand, copper and rust.
The Perfectionist Tree
Alice Naylor-Leyland's tree, festooned with sumptuous cream bows, baubles and winged horses, is the polar opposite to something tinsel-draped and colour-clashed. Her tableware and interiors shop, Mrs Alice, has everything you need - herd of glitter reindeer, anyone? - to create something equally tasteful.
The Minimalist Tree
Kylie Jenner's already got her tree up, a monolithic number that's simply laced with lights. Add a few glass baubles for extra twinkle.
The Traditional Tree
The traditionalist's tree is a feast for the eyes that majors in kooky ornaments (animals, tin men, famous landmarks, you name it).
The Fashion Tree
You can spot the fashion tree a mile off, usually because it comes festooned with tongue-in-cheek ornaments (Anissa Kermiche's Pornaments are giving Christopher Kane, the purveyor of 'More Joy' baubles, a run for his money this year).
The More Is More Tree
Jane Fonda tree is a towering ode to the maximalist school of decorating. Translation? Pile on everything, including the kitchen sink.
The Modernist Tree
Gigi Hadid's silver-leafed tree is perfect for non-traditionalist's, especially if it's complete with guitars, skateboards and gameboys instead of your standard angels, stars and robins.
