Halloween's been and gone and, if you weren't quite prepared for the deluge of trick-or-treaters and didn't manage as many costume changes as Lizzo, there's still time to redeem yourself before Bonfire Night. As one of the more low-maintenance events on the autumn calendar, all you have to worry about a) buying tickets for a fireworks display and b) kitting your kids out in warm clothes. If you've ticked off the first item but haven't got around to the second, the good news is that there are some very inviting options in the shops right now - and they all have a lovely autumnal look to them.
First up, the outerwear. Hopefully the outlook will be dry but if not, Boden's waterproof puffer jacket, in the sharpest shade of tangerine imaginable, is a great starting point at £98. For underneath, Uniqlo's forest green fleece gets our vote for its elongated neck and purse-friendly price (£14.80). And in case of mud, Hunter's glitter wellies promise to look stylish and stop your little one slip-and-sliding around the park if mud is forecast.
