Flatform Sandals

Despite the intermittent deluges it is, in fact, summer, which explains why the flatform sandal is having a moment in the sun. The Row’s Ginza, a sleek leather flip-flop, is particularly covetable, and pretty much sold out, but Mango, Eytys and Arket all have suitably chunky – and more affordable – alternatives.

PE Trainers

Gym shorts are everywhere (thanks, Paul Mescal) and now the kind of box-fresh trainers that you used to wear for PE are big news, too. Look for styles with white mesh uppers, flashes of colour and pumped-up soles.

Clogs

There’s something about the clog that says ‘can do’, even though it requires (quite some) skill to walk in them. Fabrizio Vitti’s, which come dotted with daisy heads, have been an influencer hit during lockdown.

Naked Sandals

Alarm bells will be ringing right now if you a) haven’t touched your toenails since May, b) don’t know where you put your pumice and c) can’t imagine wearing a pair of heels. But the barely-there sandal, with straps of leather resembling spaghetti, isn’t going anywhere. Be brave.
