The concept of luxury means different things to different people, particularly after the last year. But one thing that truly always feels luxurious is lovely underwear. It's the clothing we wear closest to our skin, after all, and it needs to be functional. But while lingerie is certainly an everyday item, that doesn't mean it has to be boring – if you feel good in your underwear, chances are you'll feel great in your clothes, too. That seems to be the approach of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, anyway, who has just launched her latest collection at M&S.
If you haven't yet tried anything from the Rosie range at M&S, now would be a good time to change that. This isn't an ordinary lingerie line, it's full of really beautiful, practical pieces that are still affordable – a combination that can be difficult to find on the high street.
There are pretty, 1920s-inspired pleated bralettes in pistachio or navy, lace crop tops, matching high leg knickers, pretty embroidered bras and smooth plunging styles. The fabrics used include silk, lace and cotton, making for a collection that feels far more expensive than it actually is.
Some of the knickers arejust £10, with the option to buy three pairs and get a fourth free, while bras start at £18. There's nightwear, too, including long satin wraps, printed pyjama sets and pleated camisoles with matching French knickers.
It's still true that M&S is the market leader when it comes to selling bras and knickers – and there's a good reason for that. They really are the experts in terms of building bras which offer support and great fit, while the options on offer are always varied and cater to a broad range of sizes. And it's not just the Rosie range which is so brilliant.
M&S has also just launched a new Boutique collection in collaboration with Damaris, offering colourful, playful lingerie with bow details and intricate embroidery. Again, with prices starting at just £6, it's brilliant to know you can find everyday luxury without spending a fortune.
