The last time we saw Prince George he was suited and booted at the Euro 2020 final. This time, he's looking much more casual beaming for the camera in his eighth birthday portrait in a navy and orange striped polo shirt, from high street giant John Lewis & Partners.

The snap was taken by proud mother Kate Middleton, at their Norfolk home of Amner Hall and shows the future king perched on the bonnet of a Land Rover Defender (a touching tribute to his late great-grandfather, Prince Philip).

While you might think that the most photographed children in the world would exclusively wear designer labels, they’re more likely to be seen wearing high street brands thanks to mum Kate. Not one to shy away from affordable labels, The Duchess of Cambridge is a huge fan of Little Boden, Zara Kids, Tu at Sainsbury's and of course, John Lewis & Partners - including a pair of sell-out pair of dungarees worn by Princess Charlotte in a family portrait the Duke and Duchess shared on their instagram back in 2020.

As it happens, Kate is on to something. John Lewis is currently full of some lovely, durable and practical childrenswear that will you see you through the summer and beyond. The best news? It's affordable, which means you don't need to worry when something is inevitably spilt, ripped or stained.
