This High Street Suede Bag Is All I’ve Worn This Winter—And It’s Already Sold Out In Three Colours

An ode to the suede bag I haven't taken off since November.

While I pledged to resist a suede bag for as long as I could - mostly due to the fact that I didn't trust myself to look after real suede (I don't even own an umbrella) – the moment I laid eyes on the & Other Stories Suede Tote Bag, it was officially game over. What started out as an innocent fling on the shoulder and admiration in the mirror, quickly turned into checking how much money was left in my bank account (which nearly induced a breakdown) and before you know it, I had left with more than I'd bargained for.

I immediately began to wear the suede carry-all everywhere I went. Dinner with a friend? Coffee and pastry outing? Taking out the bins? Suddenly, I was In a committed relationship with suede, and there was nothing I could do about it. The bag simply goes with everything in my wardrobe, and its outfit-enhancing capabilities mean no look is boring anymore. The velvet fabric brings a certain 'je ne se quois' to even the most unexciting looks (it's January, so there are plenty) and feeling put-together finally felt easy.

The price-point of the & Other Stories suede bag was also better than others I've seen on the high street, and for the quality, longevity and practicality, I'd reason that under £150 is brilliant. The bag is also available in a small version and, if you're looking to go full Clint Eastwood Western, a fringed version too.
