It might only be January 7, but one woman is already making a play for best outfit of 2022. For the season two premiere of Euphoria, Zendaya arrived wearing vintage Valentino, a black-and-white gown with a scalloped neckline that came from the maison's spring collection circa 1992.

Zendaya wasn't actually born when it first appeared on the catwalk, but her stylist and image-maker, Law Roach, has a famously enclopedic knowledge of fashion history and an archive to rival the Met (almost). This particular dress was modelled by Linda Evangelista, one of the original 'supers' in the Nineties, and is just the latest in a string of vintage red carpet moments from Zendaya.

If you wouldn't mind owning some vintage Valentino, the brand has made a fabulous move to make its archive more accessible to fans. As of last month, certain stores will selling vintage pieces and will also be participating in an initiative whereby customers can exchange their own garments from Valentino, which will be authenticated by the brand's archive office in Rome, for credit.
