Swimwear shopping. It’s enough hassle to make us want to give up entirely, and revert back to that bikini we bought five years ago. That, actually, you don’t really like that much anymore. But still. Though if this season should teach you anything when planning your holiday wardrobe, it’s that there is a new beach-side option for everyone.
The cossie is cool again (thanks to the Insta-set going mad over Ganni and Hunza G’s fun and flattering options). Stripes, frills and gingham are #trending on social media. And there’s a roster of new cult brands to get on your radar too, if you’re bored of your usual high-street suspects.
But for those who are simply after a chic, red swimsuit a la Mickey in ‘Love’ or a no-fuss, block colour bikini? You are in luck my friend. As Weekday just dropped the most stylish, affordable (prices start at £8) and eco-friendly swim collection (the collection is made from recycled waste materials).
‘It feels great to be able to give our customers such a nice looking and versatile collection, made from low-impact materials,’ says Louise Lasson, Creative Director at Weekday. ‘This season sharp simplicity meets sporty elements, giving way to refined details such as ultra-thin straps, fine ribbing and cleans lines as well as sporty details such as high-neck lines, thick straps, raw elastic bands and buckles.
‘A vibrant colour palette of yellow, red, pink, tan and black
encourages a mix-and-match approach,’ she says. ‘Creating a range of options that are both modern and flattering.’
Here’s Grazia’s edit of the Scandi-style swimwear items to snap up now – that actually seem too cool for the pool…
