Versace made fashion history earlier this year when the original supermodels reunited to walk hand-in-hand with Donatella Versace in the finale of her Milan show. Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni, and Helena Christensen all took to the catwalk to mark the memory of Donatella’s late brother Gianni, who was murdered by a spree gunman 20 years ago in 1997.
Now the Italian fashion house have honored Gianni in another way by bringing together two generations of supermodels for their SS18 campaign.
‘Conceived by Artistic Director Donatella Versace and shot by legendary photographer Steven Meisel, the Versace SS18 Campaign portrays - together for the first time in decades - some of the most iconic forces in fashion along with today’s hottest talent, in individual portraits capturing their unique personalities,’ the Instagram post read.
Models featured include Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Gisele Bündchen and Kaia Gerber. Wearing iconic nineties pieces and Versace prints such as Wild Animalier, Barocco and Vogue, the campaign is a fitting tribute to Gianni.
