If you’ve ever considered a nipple piercing, Skims’ latest drop might just be speaking your language. The now-infamous Nipple Bra is back, only now it comes with faux piercings. Yes, you read that right. Just when you thought the bra couldn’t get any more extra it, er, has?
Originally launched in 2023, the Skims Nipple Bra made headlines for its raised nipple detailing and seamless, sculpted fit. Now, the brand has produced a new version that makes you look as though you have your nipples pierced – without the pain. Launching on May 22nd and priced at £80, the new Pierced Nipple Push-Up Bra features a plunge neckline, teardrop-shaped cups, push-up padding – basically everything the masses love about Skims – plus (of course), the nylon-coated nipple piercing. This new addition is removable, giving you the option to wear both for full effect, just one for something on the subtler side or neither, if you so wish.
According to the brand this is its ‘sexiest bra yet', and the internet, naturally, already has lots of thoughts. ‘YESSSSS LETS GOOO, for all my low pain tolerance girlies!!!’ wrote @daphenesade on Instagram. Another added, ‘Is this some sort of satire?’ (@bbiss), proving the reaction is mixed. Still, if Skims knows anything, it’s how to spark conversation and sell out products.
As you'd expect, Kim Kardashian has already been photographed out and about in the bra, which she wore under a (very) tight black T-shirt. For a few hours, speculation was rife as to whether or not she'd decided to have some new piercings but, as we now know, she's simply proving that she's a marketing genius. There's no doubt about it, the Pierced Nipple Bra is a statement. It’s not without Y2K vibes, which continue to dominate the trend cycle. It's also giving us all the option to indulge in body piercings we can take off after brunch, no commitment needed.
