Fashion month kicks off tomorrow in New York, and the AW17 show season looks to be more political than ever.

Yesterday we told you about the Fashion Stands with Planned Parenthood initiative created by the CFDA. Designers, models, PRs and influencers are being encouraged to wear one of the bright pink badges to show their support for the non-profit organisation at threat under Trump’s presidency.

Over the pond back here in the UK, industry news site, Business of Fashion has created #TiedTogether.

In the wake of recent world events, the social media campaign is prompting people to wear a white bandana “as a sign to the world that you believe in the common bonds of humankind — regardless of race, sexuality, gender or religion”.

Business of Fashion invites the fashion industry to stand together and make a clear statement of solidarity, unity and inclusiveness,” the company said in a statement.

Business of Fashion is encouraging everyone to wear a white bandana

on their wrist, neck, head or handbag, and share the photo on social media platforms using #TiedTogether.

In particular, Business of Fashion is asking fashion designers to incorporate white bandanas into their fashion week shows, and models to wear them between appearances.
