There's no two ways about it, some of Carrie Bradshaw's looks on Sex and the City were more, er, interesting than others (ditto And Just Like That). The tie-dyed pedal pushers in bright purple. The lime green belt printed with polka dot worn around her bare midriff so that it floated above her belly button. The satin mini skirt with a plume of feathers on the, ahem, butt. The mismatched Manolos. I happen to appreciate each and every one of them but you know who didn't love everything she wore? Sarah Jessica Parker.
On the latest episode of Are You A Charlotte? - Kristin Davis's behind-the-scenes podcast about SATC - the host reveals, in conversation with showrunner Michael Patrick King, the one dress deemed unacceptable by SJP.

When Charlotte ties the knot for the first time in season three, the girls assemble in perfectly coordinated Vera Wang, surely the gold-standard of bridesmaid dresses. Right? Not necessarily.
'SJ goes and cuts up the Vera Wang dress. She didn't want to wear so beige so much, she cut it up and started putting tartan pieces on it because Trey was wearing a kilt. It was so funny,' says King.

Pictures of the dress confirm that it's a gorgeous bridesmaids dress - strapless, knee-length and, yes, beige - but perhaps not if your taste bears towards the eclectic or eyebrow-raising like SJP's. SATC, after all, contained one other beige dress, the famous 'naked' dress that she wears on her first date with Mr Big. They're both a dress and they're both beige but that's pretty much where the similarities end.
The only thing left to say is don't follow her lead if you don't like the bridesmaid dress you've been assigned. SJP taking a pair of scissors to Vera Wang? Funny. A normal person with a friend who's paid for your dress on their big day? Not so amusing.
