“I’ve spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!” It is a truth universally know that if there’s one person we look to for fancy footwear inspiration, it’s Carrie Bradshaw.
The SATC character single-handedly turned Manolo Blahnik’s and Christian Louboutin’s into the ‘It’ shoes of the late ‘90s and early ‘00s – her girly, fun and thrill seeking stilettos a character in their own right.
So it seems fitting that Sarah Jessica Parker has designed a new 16-piece capsule shoe collection for Net-a-porter - and just in time to sort out all your party shoe woes. The SJP x Net A Porter line - which includes heels and flats in jewel-toned satins and glittery leathers - launches on the luxury e-commerce site on November 17th.
Metallic mary janes? Disco-ball dancing shoes? Jimmy Choo-esque pumps? We want everything. There's even a pair of royal blue satin courts with a glitzy broach at the toe that look identical to the Manolos she wore in the Sex and the City film. If a simple black design is what you're after to pair with your LBD this season, you will not find it here.
‘It’s a big collection full of dynamic colours and options for women,’ SJP told WWD. ‘They [the designs] are all satins, saturated colour and ornamentation in a simple and elegant way - these shoes are a party for your foot.’
‘The Net-a-porter customer is not about practicality,’ the Divorce actress added. ‘More likely than not, she’s buying a lot of shoes and is not looking for a shoe to serve a lot of purposes.’
Prepare to loosen your purse strings this weekend…
