For her red carpet debut, Mia Regan - one half of Gen Z's ultimate power couple - took a sustainable approach. Instead of raiding a certain someone's store, Regan chose to rent her outfit from My Wardrobe HQ via the platform's partnership with Harrods, arriving in a fringed halter dress from Proenza Schouler.

You'd have to fork out £,1655 to actually buy the dress - the perfect LBD - but borrowing it will cost you a mere £27 per day. Maths might not be my strong point, but that definitely makes sense for party season if you have several gatherings and don't want to splurge on a load of outfits that you won't wear come 2022. It's also a great opportunity to try something a bit different. Anyone who follows Regan - @mimimoocher on Instagram - will know that her style is an eclectic mixture of vintage finds, streetwear and pumped-up trainers. A little black dress is a bit of a style curveball, therefore, which is why it's such a good idea to borrow instead of buy.

As well as Regan, Zawe Ashton, Olympia Greece and Neelam Gill all wore rented outfits from My Wardrobe HQ at Harrods. Ashton chose a grass green gown, complete with matching wrap, from Emilia Wickstead. Greece's spangled slip dress was The Attico, available to rent from £61, while Gill's was Maticesvski, available to borrow from £77.
If you want to go the whole hog this Christmas, why not pair your rented party dress with a round of second-hand gifts for your nearest and dearest? That would definitely ensure a spot on the nice list.
