It's been a turbulent few months for Meghan and Harry, but today marked their final appearance as senior members of the Royal Family. Attending the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, the couple joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well as Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and, of course, the Queen. And for her final official engagement, Meghan chose a green, draped dress from British designer Emilia Wickstead, a hat from William Chambers, heels by Aquazzura and a Gabriella Hearst bag.
The past few days have been a collective sartorial triumph for Meghan, who has selected a range of contemporary British brands for her various appearances. From the blue Victoria Beckham dress she wore to the Endeavour Awards last Thursday evening to the Simone Rocha earrings she paired with a red caped Safiyaa dress for the Mountbatten Festival of Music over the weekend, Meghan has clearly chosen her wardrobe very carefully for her return to the UK.
While the Duchess of Cambridge is renowned for her diplomatic approach to dressing, Meghan often uses her wardrobe to wield political influence of sorts. She has, for instance, long championed sustainable brands and also chose to wear pieces from female designers yesterday to mark International Women's Day.
Whatever your feelings towards the monarchy, one thing's for sure – Meghan's style choices will be sorely missed.
