Maude Apatow Is Euphoria’s Breakout Style Star You’re About To See Everywhere

Season 2 of Euphoria is in full swing and already, we've seen people searching in their droves for Cassie's NYE dress__, as well as Maddy's general outfits__. It's Lexi Howard, though, who's shaping up to be the breakout star of this season – and Maude Apatow, the actor who plays her, is similarly set to be the next biggest thing on our screens, largely thanks to her excellent red carpet style.

As the daughter of writer and director Judd Apatow and actor Leslie Mann, Maude was well-placed to pursue a career in Hollywood, although she did think briefly about becoming a journalist.

She also studied Theatre at Northwestern University, although she left early as she explained to _Vanity Fair in 2019__: '_My mom made a joke that it was because it was too cold and all of these people tweeted, ‘You're so privileged. That's obnoxious.’ They didn't know the situation. I would not leave a place because I was cold. I took a break because I was having a really hard time there, and when I was planning on going back, I got cast in Euphoria. I wanted to make sure if I was leaving school to act that it was worth it, and Euphoria is unlike anything I've ever seen. It's intense and hard to watch, but I'm so lucky I got it, because shows like this don't happen all the time.'

Maude earned her first film credit at the age of 10, starring in Knocked Up, a film directed by her dad and starring Mann as her mother. Since then, she's had roles in Girls, starred as Pete Davidson's sister in The King of Staten Island and the Netflix miniseries, Hollywood. While she's only 24, she's been in the spotlight for some time now, which means she's really honed her personal style at events and on red carpets, which she handles with seeming ease.

Recently, Maude appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she was presented with an old video clip from when she interviewed One Direction aged 14. 'I had a popular Twitter page when I was, like, 13 and I decided I wanted to become a child journalist and they asked me to interview One Direction on their first trip to America.... I couldn’t even say words! They weren’t coming out! I don’t know if I did such a great job honestly. It couldn’t have been good.'

Given the fact that she has just sold her first script (Maude met a friend at Northwestern University who became her writing partner) and that her character, Lexi, is fast becoming a focal point of Euphoria season 2, we can expect to see much more from Maude Apatow in the coming months.

For now, however, we can appreciate her excellent outfits, which have included everything from Versace to Batsheva to slinky Saint Laurent dresses.
