Haute Couture Week is the ultimate fashion fairy tale.
Twice a year the fashion pack flock to Paris to fawn over the dreamiest dresses, anticipated debuts (see Dior’s standout show this season from Maria Grazia Chiuri) and to celebrate incomparable craftsmanship.
One of the biggest moments of the week-long spectacle? The Chanel bride, of course.
And following in the footsteps of Edie Campbell, Kendall Jenner and Claudia Schiffer, this season it’s Lily Rose Depp in the spotlight - wearing the most opulent wedding dress we’ve ever cast our eyes on.
Forget understated, fuss-free bride-to-be. The 17-year-old model of the moment wore layers and layers of pink tulle. And, can we please talk about those puffball sleeves? Yes, not even the couture catwalk is immune to the '80s charms.
While Karl Lagerfeld opted to hold his AW16 couture collection in an atelier, this season was* all* about maximalism and volume, which saw models including Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner walking down a mirror floor in the French capital.
According to WWD, Karl Lagerfeld was in fact inspired by a sculpture from the Twenties by Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti titled “Spoon Woman.” Hmm.
Your style memo this season? Go big, or go home.
