Luxury fashion destination FWRD (pronounced forward) has announced that Kendall Jenner is the brand's new creative director.
The partnership with Jenner means the platform - belonging to the Revolve Group - is due an LA luxe upgrade, with Jenner creating an edit of her favourite pieces, which she then modelled in the scenic surroundings of Los Angeles.
The supermodel said, 'As FWRD's creative director, I am excited to help curate the site's offering with emerging designers and brands.' But what does the role of creative director actually entail?
A creative director is someone who oversees all the creative decisions at a company, including advertisements, products, logos and creative strategies. So, Jenner will be in charge of the look and feel of FWRD's website, the brands sold on the site, monthly edits of must-have trends, styles, and looks, as well as marketing ideas, brand partnerships and brand activations. Jenner will be kicking off her new role during New York Fashion Week.
For those unfamiliar with FWRD, it's an online boutique with a diverse range of designers on offer. There are storied brands such as Manolo Blahnik, Versace, Balenciaga and Valentino, as well as those hype labels like Jacquemus and Off-White. The platform is also a champion of emerging talent, resulting in an interesting mix of pieces from which to shop.
As for Jenner's edit, it includes accessories from The Row and Bottega Veneta, Jacquemus cardigans, The Mannei's trench coat and dresses from Acne Studios. Well worth a look as we enter the new season...
