KATE MOSS AGENCY

When Kate Moss decided to leave Storm Models this year, after 28 years, it wasn’t long before the ‘what next?!’ questions came rolling in from industry onlookers.

The 42-year-old stayed loyal to Storm founder Sarah Doukas, who famously scouted the Croydon-born teen at JFK airport in New York as a fresh-faced 14-year-old. But a spokesperson for the agency could only reveal a glimpse into Kate’s future fashion plans in April, saying only that she was ‘moving her business in-house.’

It has now been revealed that Kate Moss is to launch her very own talent agency this month - aptly named Kate Moss Agency – with the guidance of her long-term booking agent Lucy Baxter as well as fashion consultant and founder of the Production Club, Camilla Johnson-Hill.

‘It's a grown-up thing,’ Kate revealed exclusively to BoF on deciding to part ways with Storm. ‘I felt like I wanted to do things that were more than modelling. It didn't matter how much we would try and do it together with them, I was always going to be the little Kate that they've known since I was 14.’

‘It's a dream! It's so weird,’ she says of her new businesswoman role. ‘You know that film Gia? Faye Dunaway plays the agent. I could so do that! But I want to focus more on managing people's careers than just [running] a modelling agency.’

Ever the multi-tasker, Kate’s not just focussed on finding the next Kendall and Gigi.

‘I don't really want pretty people,’ she says. ‘I want people that want to sing and dance and act — I want to create stars.’

Oh and Mossy now finally has Instagram! Well, sort of.

Until now, Moss has never had any official presence on social media (although she did reveal last year a secret account for spying purposes only). But now she’ll be posting snaps of herself and her protégés she wants to promote on her agency’s new Instagram account @katemossagency.

Following. Now.
