Kate Middleton's approach to autumn style has got off to a flying start. Last week, she wore a double-breasted blazer from Reiss. Today, she's wearing another tailored top half but, this time, has decided to go for tweed. Arriving in Cumbria, Middleton chose to wear a belted jacket made from luxury wool by Really Wild, a label that she's come to rely on for countryside classics like leather waistcoats.
The jacket is sadly sold out, but still, it's got us thinking about tweed. The shops, preparing for the cold-weather season ahead of us, have filled their rails with the stuff, particularly tailored options like Middleton's. Sandro's Short Tweed Tailored Jacket would look smashing with a pie-crust collar shirt and a baseball cap. Mango's peacock blue cropped jacket is another brilliant option for £59.99. Middleton is also partial to a tweed two-piece, whether it be a miniskirt suit (yes, really) or a matching dress and jacket combo. Zara's skirt suit, the exact pink of fairground candyfloss, is very modern-day Cher Horowitz.
