Is it just us or are there two royals who have been doing a (subconscious) double act these past few months? Spain’s Queen Letizia and Great Britain’s Kate Middleton both wear shirt dresses on repeat, support the high street, recycle their outfits and, in their latest snap moment, style out pink trouser suits like pros.
Just yesterday, at a meeting for World Cancer Research Day, Queen Letizia wore her favourite blush tailoring from Hugo Boss. The two-piece has become something of an old-reliable. She wore it earlier this year for a public outing pre-lockdown, and also in December 2019.
Middleton has a similar relationship with her pink trouser suit, this time a dusky pink two-piece from M&S. She first wore the pairing earlier this year, squeezing in a visit just before the country went into lockdown with the London Ambulance Service, and reprised the outfit just this week.
Leaving the jacket behind, she paired the trousers with a scoop-neck tee (Ralph Lauren) and box-fresh trainers (Superga), a perfectly smart-casual combination for a meeting with parenting organisations in Battersea Park.
With the weather turning suddenly cold, it won’t be long before we can see what style rules they'll follow winter coat season.
