Did Kate Middleton Just Take Style Advice From Her Husband?

The Duchess' latest look featured fashion's new power player: the polo neck.

Her husband wore one on Sunday - and now the polo neck, a garment that's had quite the showing in recent weeks (Adele, Shiv Roy, Victoria Beckham) - has a new patron: Kate Middleton. Making a keynote speech to launch the campaign for Taking Action On Addiction, Middleton wore a ruby red roll neck tucked into a similarly scarlet skirt.

And on what is so far a rather dull and windy day in October, so much red was a pleasingly punchy sight, especially when paired with more muted accessories. Middleton's top-handle is by DeMellier, which she previously carried in May, while the pointed pumps are Ralph Lauren.

But as with most of her looks, there is a high street hit: ASOS' Twist Hoop Earrings. They're currently sold out, but there are several similar pairs available to buy for less than a tenner. If you want to take a leaf out of her (and her husband's book), look for fine-gauge knits, perfect for this in-between weather, and save the chunky stuff for later this year.
