Have You Spotted The Clue Behind Kate Middleton’s Clothes In This New Video?

Yesterday saw the second instalment of what might be considered the royal family's campaign around the 10th wedding anniversary of Kate Middleton and Prince William. After releasing two smiling portraits earlier in the day, @kensingtonroyal dropped a family video of the Duke and Duchess frolicking with their three children on the windswept beaches of Norfolk.

While they've been photographed many times as a five, this appears to be the first time they've been filmed. And it's the clothes that offer us a clue. Middleton's wearing a crew-neck red jumper, a white ruffle-neck blouse from Sézane, and, in one shot walking through a grassy bank at the beach, a feather-trimmed fedora hat from Hicks & Brown. But what only eager-eyed followers will have noticed is that she, and every member of her family, is wearing exactly the same clothes as they wore to get their photograph taken for last year's Christmas card.

From Princess Charlotte's boots (from mum's favourite Penelope Chilvers), right down to Prince George's fleece (from outdoor brand Regatta), everything pretty much looks identical to the shot released in December. So either they're all exceptionally fond of those outfits or this video must have been filmed on the same day. And what this suggests is not only that it's been in the works for at least five months, but that the royal family has taken an almost influencer-like approach to creating the content for its social media feeds by producing in bulk as it were. What's next? A TikTok account? Reels? Their own personal filter? The sky's the limit with the modern monarchy.
