As the daughter of original supermodel Cindy Crawford, it was inevitable that Kaia Gerber would follow her footsteps with a career in the fashion industry. After appearing in the Versace campaign alongside her mum aged 10, landing her first magazine cover at 14 and signing with model agency IMG earlier this year, she only had one model rite of passage left - her runway debut.
Last night saw the 16-year-old ticking that one off her list, walking in Raf Simons' Calvin Klein show at New York Fashion Week. It's a significant brand for Gerber to start her catwalk career with - after all, mum Cindy was a regular on the Calvin Klein runway in the '90s.

Cindy's mini-me wore low-slung yellow trousers with a black and white cowboy-esque shirt tucked in and layered over a turquoise polo neck. Cowboy boots and a red and black tasselled bag completed the look. Hair and beauty wise, she was a dead ringer for Ali Macgraw, with her long dark locks parted in the centre and her strong brows emphasised.
Simons, who has now been at Calvin Klein for a year, continued to riff on his Americana theme for spring/summer 2018, with cowboy boots and shirts still a major part of his collection. This time round, there were Sissy Spacek nightgowns and cheerleader uniform vibes, too, plus some Andy Warhol-esque prints of Dennis Hopper in Easy Rider. What could be more American than that?
Crawford was front row, natch, as well as Hollywood royalty Mahershala Ali, Millie Bobby Brown, Lupita Nyong'o and Paris Jackson.
We can probably expect to see Gerber at Marc Jacobs later this week, as she is currently the face of its Daisy fragrance. From there, we think we can hear Milan, Paris and London beckoning...
