Calvin Klein Is Taking Us Back To The Nineties This Season

And it's safe to say, we're obsessed...

Black and white footage of a teenage Kate Moss floating in still, salty waves feels eerily familiar.

Back in 1993, the model was teetering on the edge of fame and was sent to the Virgin Islands with her then boyfriend, 20-year-old photographer Mario Sorrenti.

And now, never-before-seen footage and graphics from the shoot has been released by Calvin Klein in celebration of two new fragrances, Obsessed for Women and Obsessed for Men with the aim to 'evoke the idea of memory, past love and present iconography'.

And this is not the first time the brand has paid tribute to nineties nostalgia. Earlier this week, the cult label recruited model Brooke Shields, who hasn't modelled for the brand for more than 37 years.

Creative Director Raf Simons revealed the reason behind the campaign: "I suppose you could say we were obsessed with Obsession. If one thing summed up Calvin Klein for us visually, it was Mario Sorrenti's Obsession campaign with Kate Moss."

He continued, "We thought about a scent that could reflect such an idea of memory and desire for today. Of male and female, of the memory of somebody else on your skin."

On photographing Kate back in the early nineties, Mario told Calvin Klein: "It was great. We were young and in love and I loved photographing her. When we did Obsession she was 18 and I was 20, just starting out in our lives with no pressure about anything. We were just going off and having fun."
