There's no better excuse to channel your inner Mark Darcy and reach for your most outlandishly festive piece of knitwear than Save The Children's Christmas Jumper Day 2016, which takes place on Friday 16th December. To mark this year's event, the charity has teamed up with Selfish Mother, purveyors of Instagram-friendly sweatshirts, to create festive slogan jumpers in partnership with models like Poppy Delevingne, Erin O'Connor and rising star Immy Waterhouse.

To make it easier for you to get your hands on one of the limited edition designs (which are also available online), the Christmas Jumper Truck will be popping up at McArthurGlen designer outlets around the country – with 100 percent of proceeds from donations going directly to Save The Children to help vulnerable children in the UK and around the world.

Immy was on hand to launch the initiative at Ashford Designer Outlet, showing off her own 'Baubles' slogan sweatshirt. We caught up with the model and aspiring actress to find out about her involvement with this worthy cause, and discover her plans for the festive season...

How did your involvement with Christmas Jumper Day come about?

I was approached by the 'Save The Children' campaign and said yes straight away. It's great when the creative world of fashion works together with a charity to find new ways to raise awareness. I'm a jumper enthusiast - it's my favourite item of clothing (next to socks), so any excuse to buy a new one, especially for a good cause, and I'm in!

Does the cause have special significance for you?

I love being around and working with children; they're so inquisitive and uninhibited. I saw Calais first hand and it is no place for anyone, let alone a place for a child to grow up and form all their childhood memories. We live in a time where we are so connected and can see what's going on in the world, so we need to use this to rally together and do whatever little bit we can to help.

Which is your favourite piece from the collection?

I've got to say my 'baubles' jumper - I only recently realised it wasn't pronounced 'ball balls' and I think it's a fun word. I like the colours of the designs because they're subtle - you can wear them low-key, but they're not scruffy.

When does it start feeling like Christmas for you?

When I've had some mulled wine somewhere with fairy lights... I always used to come to McArtherGlen Ashford to do last minute Christmas shopping with my mum, so it's fun to be back.

What's your favourite thing about the holiday season?

The idea of so many people taking the time to think about how they can make another person happy.

What's on your Christmas list this year?

I'm trying to make myself read more, so some books.

Who do you find it most difficult to buy Christmas gifts for?

I find it really hard to buy for my dog - he's a little picky. Aside from that, if I'm finding it difficult, I'll usually go down the sentimental, handmade route.

The Christmas Jumper Truck with Save the Children, Selfish Mother and McArthurGlen Designer Outlets launched on December 2nd. It will visit McArthurGlen Bridgend on December 10th, York Designer Outlet on December 15th, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet on December 16th and Swindon Designer Outlet on December 16th.

Celebrate Christmas Jumper Day on Friday December 16th. For more information head to www.christmasjumperday.org.
