Gwyneth Paltrow strikes again. Not with a scented candle that smells like you know what, but with some very clever red carpet recycling. The occasion was Gucci's Love Parade, a catwalk show that was staged on one of the most famous streets in the world: Hollywood Boulevard.
As Paltrow arrived, wearing a flaming red tuxedo with gently flared legs, onlookers might have wondered if they'd seen the look before - and, if so, when? The answer is 1996. Two years before she would win her Oscar, Paltrow was attending 1996's MTV Movie Awards - and wore the exact same look, red suit, blue shirt and all.
Fashion followers might also recognise it from a more recent event. At Gucci's Aria, a digital show to celebrate the brand's 100th anniversary that was released earlier this year in April, Alessandro Michele sent the same suit down the catwalk as an ode to Tom Ford, Gucci's powerhouse creative director in 1996. Paltrow was in fact wearing the reissue from Aria - not her original suit from the '90s - but, styled with almost exactly the same blue shirt and red pumps - it was the ultimate homage.
Befitting its starry location on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, several famous faces appeared on the catwalk of Love Parade. Jared Leto, a longtime friend of Michele, appeared wearing an oversized blazer with a fabulous pair of white leather pants. The actor will also soon be gracing our screens as Paolo Gucci in Ridley Scott'sHouse of Gucci (in for a penny, in for a pound). Macaulay Culkin, making, if we're not mistaken, his catwalk debut, was also part of the parade, wearing a metallic jacket, chinos and horsebit clogs (clogs!). Jodie Turner-Smith looked glorious in a yeti-style red coat and baby blue sunglasses.
The front row, naturally, had just as much megawattage, with Lizzo, Diane Keaton, Sienna Miller, Serena Williams, Dakota Johnson, Trace Ellis Ross, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and Olivia Wilde all turning up in their glad rags to support the fashion house. Paltrow's suit, however, stole the show.
