GANNI. Remember that name, you’ll be hearing it a lot over the next few months.
Whilst the Scandinavian label has remained relatively under the radar since launching in 2000, thanks to cool-girls Alexa Chung, Alicia Vikander and Daisy Lowe spotted in the brand’s trendy satin dresses and wearable separates this summer to parties and music festivals, its fast becoming the fashion brand to know.
And deservedly so. The label dubbed the ‘affordable Acne’ (think a slightly more luxe version of Zara) offers up an eclectic mix of easy-to-wear pieces, grunge-style slip dresses and statement tees that team Grazia can't get enough of.
It’s time to get GANNI on your radar, like now...
Kendall Jenner and co are huge fans…
Meet the #GanniGirls. Kendall was recently spotted off-duty in a floral sanders satin jacket in New York (check out their orange version too). Alexa Chung was frolicking at Glasto fest in their AW16 pink cardie (soz, you’ll have to wait until August though to snap up this one). Then actress of the moment Alicia Vikander was donning their pre-fall navy silk shirt at Wimbledon this month too. Love, love, love…
Their Murphy tees are a must-have
The artsy cotton T-shirts [£45]- a cult classic for the uninitiated - are back! These lightweight tops printed with colourful fruit on them are a fashion girl’s wardrobe staple. Perfect with a pair of your favourite skinny jeans – and of course to show off on Instagram. Shop them now, while they’re still available.
Cool Britannia rules next season
'I’ve always loved Britpop,' reveals Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director of GANNI.'Blur’s music was the soundtrack to my teenage years – dancing to Parklife in my bedroom.'
The former fashion buyer adds: 'This season I’ve been thinking a lot about 1990s London cool. It’s funny how modern and right so much of it looks now – the cheeky, tomboy style of the girls in bands like Elastica and Pulp. I wanted Fall/Winter to have that attitude and energy. But I also found myself drawn to the other side of British fashion – lady-like shoes, argyle knits and satin. So it’s Damon Albarn and the Queen!'
Easy, luxurious lingerie (for less)
If you’re in the market for non-fussy, feminine underwear then look no further. We’re totally obsessed with their lacy Montmartre bras [£45], available in ivory, black and pale blue. And don’t even get us started on their fall 2016 collection.
Fashion meets high-tech
For AW16 the Copenhagen-based brand is releasing an ultra-chic collection of technical coats in four water-resistant designs. We’ve got our eye on this camouflage creation.
GANNI's recent SS17 show during the uber fashionable Copenhagen Fashion Week is also getting us excited for next summer - with their range of slogan tees, black minis and statement ankle boots. See all the looks in Grazia's gallery below...
