Daisy Edgar-Jones is back on the promo trail for Fresh - a comedy-thriller about 'the horrors of modern dating' - and last night chose a look that proved her style star is nothing if not rising. Stepping out in a silvery leather slip dress from Loewe, all eyes were on her sandals - the brand's now-infamous cracked egg shoes that went viral last season at Paris Fashion Week.
Edgar-Jones, however, definitely didn't have egg on her face - and, coupled with the outfit she wore for the photocall a few weeks ago (Fendi's dream cream tailoring) - is moving into a slightly more directional phase.
Edgar-Jones, of course, catapulted to fame during lockdown with a little show called Normal People, which meant that the publicity tour took an unexpected detour from IRL (red carpets/parties/photocalls) to URL (Zoom). As well as managing to maintain the nation’s favourite fringe when hair salons remained closed, Edgar-Jones cottoned onto a winning formula. Wear statement earrings (her favourite for on-screen appearances were from Completedworks), with either a statement jumper or a special collar.
Edgar-Jones also has a secret weapon: stylist Nicky Yates. Yates, who's also worked with Claire Foy, Carey Mulligan, Naomi Ackie and Emma Raducanu, started working with Edgar-Jones ahead of 2020's BAFTAs. ‘She’s lovely – down-to-earth, charming, has great style and loves fashion,’ Yates told us at the time. ‘The process is very collaborative; she makes everything she wears look great.’
Even before Normal People, Edgar-Jones was turning heads with looks that radiated a modern sensibility: elegant yet effortless, chic but not stuffy, attention-grabbing without being attention-seeking. Keep scrolling for our favourite looks.
